For many years AMSI has been offering marketing, accounting and property management internships to young people from all over the world. Every intern had an impact on the daily business and has become a part of the AMSI family. We were wondering about their reasons to go abroad. Moreover what their overall experience is and how they benefit from taking their internship at AMSI.
Today we introduce you to Emilie Bertincourt’ from France who joined AMSI San Francisco for a marketing internship.
I have been working with AMSI as a Marketing intern for more than two months now. I wanted to take my internship in San Francisco as I fell in love with the city when living here in 2006. Having the opportunity to work and live in an open-minded, multiethnic and cosmopolitan city again was my dream. Besides, there are so many things to do in the city, from going on a sightseeing tour of the city or going shopping in the numerous department stores, there are so many places to see.
As a member of the AMSI Marketing Intern Team, I had the opportunity to work on many marketing projects. Spending time at the front desk also taught me a lot, as we are always in contact with people, whether they are tenants or owners. This has enabled me to develop my communication skills and to improve my language skills.
From my point, I feel that there is a very good working atmosphere at AMSI, and this really makes me want to work there. It is amazing to see how willing people at the office are to help and answer the many questions I had throughout the summer. Besides, I was really positively surprised by the casual atmosphere that is prevailing during meetings.
My internship at AMSI has been a great work experience so far and an enriching life experience as well. It has given me a practical training on Marketing and Business Administration. It has also taught me that it is often necessary to take initiative, and not always waiting for people to tell you what you need to do. In addition it has enabled me to learn about the way a small business runs in the United States. Moreover, this internship has shown me the way to a very interesting sector of trade, which I did not know previously, real estate.
